Good news!
There is now a National Occupational Standard (NOS) for wiring of door systems
This will be the standard used for the forthcoming NVQ, giving your installation engineers the qualification to carry out "pre-wired / plug-in systems"

Garog in conjunction with the DHF and other leading drive and control suppliers are in the process of developing "approved" DHF training modules to help your existing door installers reach the required competence to satisfy the standard and the NVQ assessors.
Once completed details will be posted on this site.
In the meantime any engineers with the required competence can apply for NVQ assessment through construction skills.
An Assessor will visit the candidate in the workplace and assesses their work and knowledge over a period of time to the National Standards. (NVQ)
The Assessor compiles a portfolio of evidence which is submitted to City & Guilds for approval
There is no need for an Operative to miss time off work by attending a training centre or college, as all assessments are carried out on site.
